Description This report provides an overview of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC), and its importance to the implementation of REDD+ projects. Generic guidelines are provided for how governments and businesses can respect Indigenous peoples right to FPIC, based on the premise that applications of FPIC must be directed by the local community that is affected by a given project.
