| Description | The report of the special rapporteur of the United Nations states that the indigenous peoples of Honduras live in a critical situation due to the lack of protection of their rights over their lands, territories, and natural resources and the acts of violence they face for claiming their rights in a general context of violence and impunity and lack of access to justice. This is compounded by inequality, poverty and the lack of adequate basic social services, such as education and health. It concludes with the need to install protective measures, in parallel with the investigation and punishment of those responsible for murders and harassment of indigenous peoples. |
